My students love performing centers with low light, while quiet instrumental music is playing in the background. Center time in my classroom is described as "THE BEST PART OF THE DAY". When creating centers, I like to keep my students in mind. I challenge them, introduce new reading material, and expand on their current knowledge.
The Covid pandemic has affected the younger generation of students tremendously. They have not experienced a “real” school year. Students in our school have experienced emotional, social, and educational setbacks. I am asking for new center resources and grade leveled books. My students will be given the opportunity to master phonics skills, reading fluency, and hands-on exploration. My students already have shown that centers are effective and have shown many other skills besides academics. While my students perform centers, they show characteristic traits such as Ownership and Responsibility. All of these center activities and books have a great purpose. By incorporating these resources in my daily center rotations, it will leave a great impact on my students.
