The loss of in class instruction due to COVID-19 has resulted in increased learning gaps for my students who already have signification challenges. Students have not only missed academics but have lost opportunities to participate in activities that support social emotional learning.
The games and manipulatives requested will provide students the opportunity to practice newly acquired skills in a structured manner that promotes communication, supports math concept development and encourages strategic thinking. Games can be differentiated to support the various needs of learners in the classroom and assist students in developing skills such as self control, conflict resolution, and a growth mindset.
