I am a Kindergarten teacher at Denison Elementary School in Idabel, Oklahoma. I am proud to be a small part of the #1 ranked Best Public Elementary School in McCurtain County and #7 ranked in Oklahoma according to the 2022 Niche School Ratings. Over the past five years, I have accumulated many items, resources, and tools for my students, often with my own funds and a small grant I received as a new teacher. I have worked to build a resourceful classroom library for literacy and increased math resources. I am working to build a writing center that fosters a love of writing and creativity, which is something that my students greatly need. Currently, we use alphabet stamps, markers and pencils daily in my classroom writing center. I would love to provide a new dry erase table and flexible seating that will allow for small groups to use during center time. In addition, I would like to provide supplies and tools that will enhance their fine motor skills. Proper storage and organization for these items are also desperately needed and will increase the lifespan of the items. My Donors Choose shopping cart includes items that will help me achieve my goal for my students. Items from Amazon and Lakeshore will include a table and flexible seating, supplies and organization, and activities to enhance writing skills.
My students this year enjoy the small writing center I have now. They often ask for more supplies and to use my teacher tools to create and expand their writing. We are in our Spring semester of school and my students’ are blooming with knowledge and curiosity. I ask that you consider and accept my project request.
