Hands on learning is very important for early childhood education. Young students retain information easier and for a longer period of time when they are allowed to explore with manipulatives. A variety of manipulatives are needed to reach each student on their individual level. These manipulatives would not only benefit this class but also the classes for years to come. The materials will be used for small groups, literacy stations, mathematics stations, and interventions. The students are excited and engaged when new manipulatives are introduced, I would like to be able to switch out manipulatives so they seem new again.
