Due to the pandemic, my students have been forced to work independently and on their devices more than ever. What they really want is to collaborate with their peers, play games, and do hands-on activities. I want to bring this fun back to our classroom for our upcoming unit on graphing. When students are engaged in class they learn more. Providing students with the types of learning they enjoy will improve engagement and their overall learning.
Not only will collaborative activities improve students' learning but also their social and communication skills. All of this will build students' confidence in their math abilities, relieving some of their math anxiety. This project will provide students the tools to work collaboratively while playing games and completing group projects.
