The success, safety, and happiness of my students has never been more important, now that we are impacted by COVID daily in our classroom. I want to provide a classroom where my students have the tools, opportunities, and support they need to be successful learners. Having individual seat pockets will allow my students to store additional supplies that would have been previously shared by the whole class. Students can keep learning tools, manipulatives, art supplies and headphones at their desks. Seat pockets cut back on germ exposure, as well as give my students independence by allowing them access to their tools any time they need them.
The multi purpose bookcase with reading nook would provide a warm and inviting reading area for my students to experience a variety of texts throughout the year, and foster joy in reading. This engaging space would store fiction and non-fiction books that focus on our weekly classroom topics.
