I chose materials that we need in my classroom to optimize their engagement and learning. Students have spent far too much time on their computers and working/not working solo in light of COVID-19, I want them to work cooperatively in groups to solve problems and analyze data.
The newest science class at our school has quickly become the most requested, Forensics, and the one I have the least materials for. Much of my list is to enrich this class with kits for several units. Students are more invested when they have a purpose so the materials I chose each put the students in the role of an investigator of a crime.
