I have requested items that will provide my students with a cozy and calming learning space. The sofa will be used in our reading corner during our independent reading time each day. Students will be able to read with the warm, weighted water pouches to enhance relaxation and calm anxiety. The weighted lap blankets will be alternated throughout my students with the highest needs to ensure they feel safe and calm throughout their day.
The stools will provide seating around my small group table and my Title 1 push in table allowing us to reach more students during intense intervention instruction. Since shared supplies are unsafe due to Covid-19, the seat sacks will provide a convenient space for my students to store their personal supplies that don't fit in their desks.
