The materials will be used primarily during literacy centers where our classroom friends work with partners or small groups to practice the skills taught to the class as a whole. This also strengthens social development as they practice sharing and helping each other with the activities.
The items include magnet tiles, monkeys, beads, clips, and toys that reinforce practice with letter sounds and word-building skills.
The nature of the toys support exploration and play decreasing students' stress level making it easier for them to learn. The variety of materials will ensure that they stay engaged as they get to play with letters and words.
