My kindergarten students are always on the move. They like to work different places around the classroom besides at a table and chair. I would love to give them the opportunity to have more options of seating besides the traditional way.
We all learn in different ways and I want to give my students the chance to explore the best ways they can learn. Flexible seating gives them the options to move around, to feel better supported, and more focused in class. It gives me the option to be more creative in my lessons.
I believe having flexible seating options for my students will help them be more engaged and participate more. Giving a child a wiggle chair who cannot sit still will help them be able to focus on my lesson. Giving students the option to sit on the floor with a lap desk gives them the opportunity to stretch out their legs while working.
This simple change in my classroom has the potential to transform the way students learn for the better.
