By implementing an in-class library, my students will be able to find a great resource for engaging themselves in reading, being able to feel secure in choosing books that will fit their own personal style and reading level without fear of judgment. Struggling readers will often pick up a smaller book or books with bigger print or books with pictures because the pictures and larger visuals are less intimidating. Advanced readers want to be challenged. Having this type of variety and allowing my students a safe place to make that choice will aid in self-confidence as well as engage them in reading.
