The resources I chose are essential for learning in my classroom. Flexible seating is a must. The bean bags will allow students to sit and enjoy a great book in a comfortable chair. Who likes reading at an uncomfortable desk? Not me. Ball chairs are great for students that have a hard time sitting still. I have a couple of students that would benefit from sitting in a ball chair.
Flexible seating will allow students to learn in their choice of environment. I have a few flexible seating options in my classroom, and the students love them. I am hoping to get more flexible seating options that support my students with ADHD and allow students to learn comfortably.
In my classroom, I want to have a calm-down corner. Fidgets, ball chairs, timers, and other hands-on activities that I included will help make the calm-down corner work. I am a firm believer in calm-down corners and have seen it work in action. A calm-down corner will benefit my students and help them when they need it.
