Whether a child is left brain, or right brain, both sides of the brain need exercise. Art not only allows for creativity and stress relief but develops cognitive and critical thinking skills.
Art fosters higher levels of thinking, so implementing art into all subjects is what I hope to do if given supplies for my classroom. We will paint shapes in geometry and learn about spacial concepts, illustrate stories and create dioramas, construct models for science lessons, as well as study about some of the worlds most amazing artists. Most importantly, I will showcase their art so they can take pride in their work and develop self confidence.
