All of the manipulatives I choose for my students are hands-on so they can practice math in a fun and interactive way. By using a game like "Pop" students learn math facts while playing. I want to provide my students with the opportunity to go beyond paper and pencil and get them engaged with manipulatives they can use to learn basic math skills from an early age. This includes the Base Ten Mats, Ten Frames Math Counters, Rainbow Fraction Teaching Kit, Math Cubes, etc.
A big part of my day is providing small group instruction that focuses on the skills my students need the most. It is also important to have resources to accommodate the needs of more advanced students and for that, I included games like Multiplication Dominos and Multiplication and Division game cards. This will challenge my students and for sure will keep them motivated!
What better way to help students achieve their success than to provide them the tools they need to make their learning experience intentional and meaningful (in a fun way!!!).
