A general consensus of my classroom consists of students with limited resources. I want to make this opportunity available to my students to show them how fragile life is from egg (or embryo) and on. With Covid effecting my kids lives since they were in 3rd grade, a lot have already given up on the public school system. I want to bring some fun into my classroom, and unfortunately with my paycheck I could not afford to buy these things myself. The incubator will show the kids the eggs in their early stages, and then we will get to move our chicks once they are hatched to a secure place with a brooder lamp on them. The other things I’ve put in my cart such as the chick development chart will help me to show them the different stages of life for the chicks we have. Also, the fountain and feeder are just necessities to maintain a long life, as well as how to teach my kids to clean those for learning responsibility. I feel like this will be something they talk about on those last days of their senior year reminiscing on some of their best times.
