These products will be used to encourage each other as well as build pride in their school. The Cricut products can create so many different projects and the plan is to use them to make posters, shirts, decorations for proms and dances, cards of encouragement, and the list goes on and on.
Sometimes just a note saying you matter or a positive sign makes a world of difference in someone and can change their whole mindset.
Currently we make candy bags for each student on their birthday. I'd like to grow with this and start making them a shirt for their birthday instead. We can use all of the items to do fundraisers in our district to raise money to be able to do things such as this for our students. There are so many lessons to be learned in this project. First of all, they learn to use equipment and different kinds of media, which will help them in their adult life, when they have to do such things for their own children. In addition, this teaches them to have empathy for others and to show encouragement to people outside their circle. During covid, I've seen where students don't communicate in person as much as they should. Hopefully, with this project the students will learn to work together as they create these items as well as show empathy through giving gifts.
