The materials I choose are to help my students learn in an environment that supports their needs. I have students who have ADHD in my classroom and just can't sit still. I do provide options for them, such as standing while working, sitting on the floor, or working on the rug in our library. But I would like to provide more options for my students.
My students come from low-income backgrounds and flexible seating will help them get their wiggles out while getting the education they deserve. The kick bands will be placed on students chairs to use while working just to help get out their wiggles. Students will be able to use the wobble stools for small group time with me, as well as with our title teacher since we are a Title 1 school. The ball seat will help my students who just need to bounce or move around more while working. The big bean bag will be used for students who are doing independent reading or who just need a space to calm down when things are overwhelming them. The wobble chair feet will also help with students who need a normal chair back but are still needing to move around while working.
