Every year we talk about events that have shaped the lives of my students as well as my own. This year we read the book Ground Zero as a class to help relate events that have happened in history to ourselves. The students were entranced by the book. Many students who are visual learners really struggled with not having a hard copy of the book in front of them as well as being able to physically see the locations that were described in the book. Having the atlas placemats, would allow students to have a visual on where things took place and allow them to use relative location to where we live.
