I teach a self contained classroom of 8 AMAZING special needs children. These children differ socially, mentally, and physically from the average student; to such an extent that they require modifications in their education, extracurricular activities, and daily routines. My job demands patience, flexibility, and attention, but I have found that the rewards of being these student's teacher far outweighs the challenges. Each one of my students are unique and special in their own way. They are always excited to learn new things and eager to please. They face challenges on a daily basis, but they never give up. I love being their teacher, but what they don't realize is how much have taught me. I wish I was able to share a photo of these wonderful children, but due to privacy laws I am not able to.
