The materials listed on my Ðǿմ«Ã½ will provide students in my Biology and Living Skills Class, the materials they need to finish their Outdoor Classroom/Garden and the materials needed to practice job and living skills.
Two years ago, my class received a grant to begin an Outdoor Classroom/Garden, that is accommodating to special needs children. The space is actually a cement area between an art classroom and mine. Because the area is on a cement pad, we thought placing turf over the cement will give it a more realistic feel and the kids could sit on the ground and enjoy the space. We have already bought 3 rolls of turf but we are in need of more.
The sprinkler/irrigation system is for our greenhouse and garden beds. Having a sprinkler/irrigation system will allow us to take care of the plants during the summer and holiday breaks without having to come to school every few days. The waterproof heaters are also for the greenhouse. Our greenhouse was ordered off of Amazon. It is made of plastic and is not sealed very well. We are hoping with the waterproof heaters, we can keep plants growing all year long and use the produce for cooking in our Living Skills Class.
The cleaning cart is for the Living Skills Class. Everyday, the students clean two classrooms a day. This cart will allow us to keep all the equipment together as we move from one task to the other without having to run to my room to change equipment/tools each time. This cart will help us save time and allow us to clean more classrooms.
