These books will help my students explore and learn about different minority perspectives, while allowing them to expand their own personal thoughts and beliefs on subjects like social justice and equality. Our school library is sadly limited in options for students looking to learn more about these things, so my hope is that these books will help broaden their horizons. The graphic novels will appeal to students who are not your typical book lover, and will hopefully help them to develop a love a reading by introducing them to a new format that is both eye catching and entertaining.
