The supplies I have requested for a listening center will be very valuable in my morning literacy stations. A listening center is a designated place in a classroom where students can sit and use headphones to create a private world between them and whatever they are listening to. As my students, LISTEN UP, to the books on CD, their fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills will all be enhanced as they enjoy rich literature. The CD players will be very beneficial and user friendly as my first graders will independently operate them at this literacy station. The floor chairs will be a comfortable way for my students to relax, listen, and focus on the book they are listening to. My students will enjoy and benefit academically from a well-organized listening center that I wish to create in my classroom.
