We will primarily use these lap desks as we practice many Pre-K skills together. The lap desks will provide my students with a sturdy writing surface as we sit together on the carpet and learn to write our names, alphabet, numbers, and other words. We can also use the surface as a defined area to count, sort, and pattern manipulatives. I especially like the storage space for each lap desk that can store a pencil, paper, scissors, glue stick, white board, dry erase marker, crayons, and a few counting blocks. This will make transitions for each activity easier. These lap desks are also great for distance learning! They are collapsible and provide a handle for easy carrying. That makes these lap desks portable and ready to go with needed supplies in the need of sudden virtual learning. The desks also have a place for the students' tablets to stand up in front of them as they write on the desk. This will make group work through Google Meets easy to do, and students will already be familiar with the work area, whether at school or at home!
