My fifth grade students are getting to be the big kids around the school. They like to have choices and input in decisions at school. My students also have come accustomed to having in-person learning and virtual learning at times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this we have learned not all students learn best in a regular classroom setting.
My project is for tall desks, lap desks, and wobble seats for flexible seating options in my classroom. I feel that having these items in my classroom for my students will help me to reach students whom have a hard time sitting still in a desk and focus better standing, or when they have a swivel chair, or can sit on the floor with a lap desk. Giving my students the choice to pick their seating also helps build a community in my classroom too, and when students are comfortable, focused, and feel valued they will have the opportunity to be the most successful student they can be.
