Students will immerse themselves in multiple lessons focusing on the principles and physics of flight. The impacts of Aerodynamics, lift, weight, thrust, and drag will be emphasized in the classroom, then the building and launching of rockets will provide direct reinforcement of concepts in a team-building environment. Also, they get a thrill each time a
rocket soars into the air and then floats back to earth via its parachute.
Our team is requesting model rocket kits and model rocket engines. The students will immerse themselves in a team project to assemble, modify, and decorate their rockets. All of this instruction and effort come together on launch day where each student team will launch their rockets. Our school multimedia department live-streams this event allowing parents and friends to share in their accomplishments.
