These materials will help students address functional communication, safety, improve vocabulary skills for increased success in the academic setting, help them with increased attention and to decrease distracting behaviors by providing sensory input/feedback.
Sensory items such as "fidgets". can be used in the classroom for students to increase attention and decrease anxiety/stress. The simple AAC device/Ablenet QuickTalker I requested can be used to provide a voice for students who are non-verbal.
Simple things like velcro and the PECS book will allow me to provide students with a personalized approach to their communication needs.
