Support Mrs. Schmidt's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
My goal through this project is to create a more comfortable learning environment for my students. One of the only good things about distance learning was that our students were able to learn in the comfort of their own homes. They could finish calculus on the couch, read their novel while snuggled up in bed, or study plants in their backyard for biology! Now that school is back in person, they're giving up their comfortable couches for plastic desks, fluorescent lights, and dull classrooms. The least we can do is create a more comfortable environment for them to learn!
I firmly believe that a student is more likely to enjoy a class and participate in discussions if they feel comfortable in the classroom. The seat cushions that will be tied to their desks will create a more comfortable spot to sit (considering they sit for almost 7 hours a day!). The light covers will create a more serene atmosphere and the bean bags will allow students a place to sit when they just need something different.
Kids have bad days, just like we do. They need a safe place to go when their emotions get to be too much for them. That is what I want my classroom to become. A place where kids can come to relax, detox from their stressful lives, and find comfort. I believe these items will help transform my classroom into a more relaxing and comforting environment.
