I would teach students about 3D printing, how 3D printing technology works, and its applications in real-world scenarios. (streamlining industrial processes, creating artificial body parts)
3D printing would spark greater creativity and collaboration in solving. With these 3D printers, it would facilitate improved learning, skills development, and increased student and teacher engagement with today's technology.
My students love working on the website "Tinkercad". And the longer we use it, the more options I continue to add on. By the end of the week the students have:
1. A full 3D model of their project on the computer
2. Worksheets of documentation and reflection on their process of how they made their project
3. Class discussion sharing what they learned and how this workflow might influence how they approach a design in the future.
And 4 could potentially be a physical 3D model that could be printed. We could further discuss what we could have done differently to make the vehicle we printed actually roll.
