These materials will be used by students in Spanish club and in Spanish class to enhance their understanding of Spanish language and Hispanic culture through experience.
Students will learn about Dia de los Muertos, Guatemalan Worry Dolls, Ojos de Dios, Mexican Flavors, and traditional games. Some items will also enhance classroom learning with manipulatives. This is particularly true for time, which is a concept difficult for students to understand. For Dia de los Muertos, students will not only experience the tradition of face painting "calacas", but also will create "linternas" that are parts of traditional "altares".
