I teach at a school where most of the students come from a recently immigrated, working class, English learning background. Some of the students are legally considered homeless. I want to be able to provide a small library of the basic books that all students should or will read in their educational careers. We are a college prep school and this collection of books will give them the exposure and familiarity needed with content for when they are in college. Right now with the current employment situation, we don't have a librarian or a library for the children to go to on campus. With this collection I will not only be helping my students directly but any student who want to read them on campus.
