My students struggle to speak and communicate in society. As part of their curriculum, each student uses a chromebook and headphones to both listen to individualized lessons and also to speak answers to questions or to read aloud to work on their speaking skills. The district provided us with cheap plastic headphones (no microphone) to use for class and they are almost all broken from simple wear and tear. The earphones tend to break off due to a plastic pin used to secure them. My students are therefore forced to hold both broken earphones to their ears to be able to listen to their lessons. It is important for the students to develop their communication skills to help them become more constructive members of our society. These headphones will be extremely helpful in aiding my students in their ability to communicate through typing, hearing, and speaking with out having to constantly use their hands for each of those activities.
