I have provided the option of flexible seating over the past three years of my teaching career. It has provided a safe and comfortable place for students to learn in a way that benefits them personally. It allows the students to have autonomy over their learning as well as responsibility for their actions. Having the option over their seating choice allows them to be more open to the possibility of learning while in my classroom. This not only benefits their learning now, but will allow the students to work toward better study skills when they reach a high level.
