I am looking to get art supplies for low-income Urban 4th graders who come to school with no supplies. They are 80% low-income and 2/3 ELL. Many of the students are Refugees and 1/4 of them do not speak English.
Art is something the whole class enjoys and it allows the ELL students to express themselves. We try to do art every week but, it is difficult and expensive for me to keep buying supplies out of my own pocket. I am down to a few mismatched run-down packs of crayons and colored pencils for 21 students and I feel guilty forcing them to share and hurrying them to give them to the next person.
