This is a small group of my 7th-grade students. We just started working on our first unit of AI (Artificial Intelligence).
I am proud of how engaged they are during classroom discussions. It's exciting how my students enhance our classroom discussions with real-world knowledge about AI.
For example, they recently led a discussion about Ford's pursuit of a patent for self-driving cars. This patent will disable cars that are going to be repossessed and remotely activate them to self-drive to a designated area to be towed for repossession. They found that concept and artificial intelligence to be fascinating. They even brainstormed about AI projects they could design as entrepreneurial pursuits.
Based on what they are learning in middle school, it's exciting to hear them making plans to pursue STEM pathways when they go to high school. It's such a joy to expose my young students to technology!
