These books and social emotional learning tools will provide my students with a variety of different ways to explore their feelings. Students will be able to learn healthy ways to manage their emotions. Through various different books I can explore many different topics that can be difficult to discuss with students, these books and toys will provide a hands on way for me to show my students how they can react differently in situations.
Modeling to students how to use sensory toys and through books will give them healthier ways to deal with their emotions.
Students learn best when they can relate to what they are reading/looking at. These books and activities will provide a space for them to learn from what they are reading.
Through all of these books and activities I will be able to reach a larger number of students through groups and full class discussions. Students will be able to share with their peers positive ways to interact with each other. Students will learn coping skills that will hopefully prepare them for real life scenarios. We will be able to incorporate play along with learning so they will understand better the topic being discussed. Having these books and activities will help students become well adjusted and able to manage their feelings in a positive healthy way.
