My 422 students attend elementary and intermediate schools in Wisconsin. They are eager learners and they are filled with energy. My students range in grade-level from first grade to fifth grade. My students learn Spanish through a content based (social studies) elementary World Language program. Students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades have Spanish class three times a week. Students in 4th and 5th grades have Spanish twice a week. The program is inclusive, meaning all students participate in Spanish class, including those students with special needs. Several of my students are native Spanish speakers who are able to be leaders in sharing their knowledge of language and culture. All of my students are capable language learners, who need to be engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
