My students are a diverse and resilient group of learners with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) who have multiple eligibilities for special education services. They include students with autism, other health impairments, dyslexia, specific learning disabilities, dyscalculia, intellectual disabilities, emotional disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. Our classroom reflects a rich mix of cultures and backgrounds, including Black, African American, Latinx, Hispanic and Asian-Pacific Islander students. Each student brings unique strengths, perspectives, and learning needs. Many benefit from hands-on, individualized supports and interventions that help them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their fullest potential.
