My students come from all walks of life. Some have incredible homes with support while others are lucky to have dinner when they get home at night. QHS is a high poverty school. The literature in my classroom is often geared toward a small portion of interests. I have a handful of books I purchased from my own pocket to help find books that will intrigue my low achievers. I can barely keep those books on the shelf. Students who have never read a book own their own before stop by my desk after class to discuss what they have read. I need to have more resources in my classroom for these students.
