I am so excited about the possibilities of having these write and wipe lapboards (aka reflection boards) in my classroom. My students love to express themselves in creative ways. These reflection boards will enable students to reflect on stories read in class in an innovative manner. "Describe to me in any way you see appropriate (words, pictures, graphs . . .) how this story affected you." They will also provide them with the opportunity to share reflections on world events (many of which have directly impacted our community).
I envision these reflection boards being used individually and collaboratively. There will be opportunities for individual tinkering, reflecting, and doodling. I also plan to incorporate engaging collaborative projects that encourage the kids to build consensus and reflect on the others point of view.
In a world where technology seems to rule the day, I'm excited to put these simple, but powerful and flexible tools in the hands of my kids!
