This year my students are all Kindergarteners. Many of my students have autism. They face challenges to their learning such as attention problems, learning disabilities, sensory problems and behavior problems. My students are predominantly from low income single parent households. They would greatly benefit from the use of hands on learning strategies. Hands on literacy materials provide not only a multi-sensory approach to learning but also helps to increase their focus and attention.
