My charter school students are inner city youths who are low income, but high spirited as they've embarked on a new literacy journeys. Silent sustained reading wasn't a favorite among them at the beginning of the year, but as our class has evolved they've taking a more positive approach to reading. As a result, they've read everything on my shelves, and I can't keep up with their new appetites for reading.
