I teach 5th grade at Escamilla Elementary, a Title I school in Aldine ISD where most of our students come from low-income households. Many of them face challenges outside of school—whether it’s financial hardship, language barriers, or taking care of younger siblings. Despite that, they show up every day with so much heart, resilience, and determination.
Every day in my classroom, I see our 5th graders working hard, encouraging one another, and growing into confident young leaders. They’ve overcome challenges and accomplished so much!
