I am an 8th grade civics teacher in a large, urban district. We are a Title I school were 91% of our students are considered "high needs": this means they may be economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities, and/or English language learners. The students I teach are in an inclusive setting, meaning many of the students I teach are on IEPs, and reading below grade level. They are curious, funny, empathetic, and a joy to work with and learn from every day.
