My classroom serves scholars in a Title I school where 100% of students qualify for free lunch. Over 85% of my students entered second grade below grade level, many impacted by poverty and limited early learning opportunities. Most come from non-traditional households and are being raised by grandparents or single parents working hard to provide stability.
Despite these challenges, my scholars are resilient, curious, and eager to learn. My classroom is a structured, nurturing environment where students build foundational skills through listening, speaking, collaboration, and focused practice. With the right tools and support, this classroom becomes a place of hope where early learning gaps are closed, confidence is restored, and students are set on a path toward long-term academic success.
