I teach an incredible group of resilient, creative, and curious students at South Pike High School, a predominantly Black school where many face economic challenges. Despite obstacles, they show up eager to learn and grow—as scholars, leaders, and changemakers. They engage deeply with topics like identity and justice, and thrive when learning reflects their lives. Their voices deserve to be heard, and a diverse classroom library helps affirm their worth, fuel their dreams, and inspire transformation. With the right resources, they won’t just succeed—they’ll shape the future.
