I teach Kindergarten in a large urban district in Tennessee. Our school is one of a few in our district that does not receive Title I funding. Since we do not receive this valuable source for the students, our school lacks many of the basic creative materials that make Kindergarten a memorable and strong foundation in a child's educational experience. My class of 20 students is an energetic and eager group of learners. Like all young children, my students learn so much from working and playing with hands-on materials and manipulatives.
