We are a rural, low-income middle school with 63% of our 480 students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. My students range from gifted and talented to those with severe learning disabilities. They enjoy learning when it is interesting, or applicable to them; if it is read and regurgitate they are bored! They are rural kids watching the modern world on T.V. and wanting to be a part of it. Just like we did. They want to create to express themselves in the modern colors and methods that they see in the media. Our school's old and scarce resources are a bit too drab for them.
