I teach in a school that is predominantly Hispanic. The neighborhood and the school is located in is not one of a rich environment. My students know what they know, and usually don't go beyond the boundaries of their "community" comfort zone. Our school is a title 1 school; which means that our school is funded federally to close the achievement gap between low-income and other students. This is the reality of the community, but the high spirits of the students is what drives their desire to succeed.
