The GJD Regional Day School in Jersey City is a facility that services children with
Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive educational program, which will provide the students with the skills necessary to become and remain an independent member of society.
Just recently, a sensory room has been provided to allow the students access to a variety of
sensory type equipment some examples include lights, tents, textures tiles, soft small motor objects which will help them address their Individual needs. Our goal is that the room will provide a calming and safe setting for our students to enjoy as well as improve their emotional/social skills, communication skills, fine-motor skills, self-care skills and cognitive functions.
The staff at RDS would love for their students to have the
sensory equipment needed to meet all their sensory needs.
