I serve students that identify Haiti or South and Central America as their family's roots! Our population is 83% Latino and 13% Haitian with a little African American mixed in. We are 1% White - and that is rounded up! In other words, I get to serve families with real hopes and dreams about their kids' futures. Their heritage is more old fashion in many ways and it results in the kids having stronger work ethics and interest in learning! They are a joy to work with. With 95% of our students qualifying for Free or Reduced Lunch, you can imagine the level of poverty. But as high as the poverty is, their hopes and dreams are even higher. Thank you for helping me make a difference in their lives!
